Your first appointment

We appreciate your time is precious, and that going to the dentist can seem like a hassle sometimes. So your family can get the dental care they need—when they want it—we offer easy booking processes and convenient appointments, which extend into school holiday periods.

You can expect that on your first visit to us, one of our experienced oral health professionals will:

  • ask you about your oral health and listen to any concerns you may have about it

  • thoroughly examine all your teeth

  • check the health of your gums

  • examine the soft tissues of your mouth for any abnormalities

  • discuss with you the results, including, any recommended follow-up treatments, in a way you can easily understand

We may also ask you for your permission to take dental x-rays at your appointment, to get a clearer picture of your oral health.

Finally, depending on your needs and if time allows, we might even do a clean and polish of your teeth at this appointment.

A new you

Our new patients come to us from diverse backgrounds and for a variety of reasons. You might be used to going to the dentist regularly, but are new to the area. You might have simply had a bad experience with your usual dentist and are looking for a fresh change. Then, again, you might be one of those many people who have been putting off going to the dentist because you're either too busy or anxious to attend.

At Tweed District Dental, we welcome you to our practice no matter what your dental history. You'll still be treated in the same professional, accepting and caring way. We focus on your future oral health and on improving it—not judging you on your past.

Our payment options

We accept all major health funds, as well as the Department of Veteran's Affairs (DVA) and the Medicare Child Dental Benefits Schedule government schemes. This enables us to provide our patients with the treatment they need, without the hassle.

Tweed District Dental is a preferred provider for BUPA and nib. This means if you belong to either of these funds, you can claim the maximum benefits when you visit us, based on your level of cover. With HICAPS, we can process your insurance claims on the spot, speeding up the time it takes for you to receive your rebate.

For patients without private dental health cover, we are happy to spread your treatment over time, where possible, so that you can budget for your dental care.

We accept a variety of payment options for your convenience. These options include:

  • MasterCard

  • Visa

  • HICAPS

  • Debit card

  • Cheque

  • Cash

Again, welcome to Tweed District Dental.
